The Impact of COVID-19 on IA and its Practitioners

IAIA recently opened a survey on the impact of COVID-19 on impact assessment and its practitioners. As leaders in IA in your countries and regions, your members can contribute valuable information to this survey, helping us all to understand the real impact of the pandemic on this sector. Please consider sharing the following survey link with your members. (Please note that the link sent out directly to IAIA International members this week was a single use link – to share with a broader group, you will want to use the link below.)

Because this is a rapidly changing situation, we would appreciate participation by 14 May — IAIA wants to be able to help its members and the field of IA at large by getting the survey results out as quickly as possible.

The survey will help us:

  • Understand how COVID-19 has affected your impact assessment work and how IAIA can respond to the challenges you face;
  • Anticipate how policies, standards, and regulations may change in response to COVID-19, (e.g., from efforts to stimulate economies); and
  • Identify what role IAIA should or could play to ensure that standards and quality of impact assessment are sustained.

With your input, results from this survey will enable IAIA to identify ways it can support a process of assessing and managing impacts which is effective, efficient, and realistic given the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on all of our lives and work. Highlights of the survey will be available by the end of May.

We estimate this survey will take 20-25 minutes to complete. Your time and feedback are truly appreciated.
